By hiring youth through SGA’s Workforce Development programs, you are empowering the next generation of Chicago’s workforce to become productive citizens who contribute to the local and global economies. That’s a win-win!
Hiring Efforts: SGA will offer job fairs, direct referrals and online applications (if applicable) to ensure a large pool of applicants.
Pre-Screening: SGA will pre-screen each youth, ensuring applicants meet your organization’s specific needs. SGA offers application, interview and human resources support through the hiring process, if desired. Note: Hiring is not mandatory.
Orientation & Training: SGA staff will work closely with your management team to create a customized onboarding and continued training plan, ensuring youth assimilate to your organization’s culture and expectations. We provide employability skills training and social-emotional learning for each youth worker; topics include responsibility, communication, collaboration, problem-solving, social awareness, leadership and career development.
Subsidized Placement: SGA will explore opportunities for state and local funding to subsidize the youth’s payroll.
On-Going Support: SGA staff offers support services to both the employer and employee throughout the duration of employment.
